Viewpoint Pilot is an awesome arcade style shooting game where students must answer HUNDREDS of questions about point of view to win.
Students fly around in a cool spaceship, collect awesome power-ups, and defeat hordes of enemy spacecrafts. When students get hit, they have to answer a question about narrative perspective. They are shown a passage and must determine whether it is narrated from first, second, or third-person perspective. If they answer the question correctly, they continue. If they answer incorrectly, they suffer in-game penalties, like losing power-ups or starting over. This motivates them to answer the questions correctly. Its amazing how hard students try when they have an incentive. In the later levels, students must identify objective, limited, and omniscient narrative modes. By the time your students make it through all ten levels, they will have mastered point of view.
